Directories Entry/Edit Form:

The Directory Form is accessed by clicking on File (top left corner of the screen) and then clicking on Directories. The Directory Paths pictured above reflect the standard CCS directory structure from a typical (default) installation. You may set up files in any data structure you desire. Be sure to update this screen as follows:

Programs: Sets the location that the CCS Accounting program files (exe, .dll's etc.) are located. Can be a shared device.
Dos Directories: Sets the location that CCS Accounting will locate DOS style data files (non ODBC. Can be a shared device. Note: If you are also using an older DOS version of CCS Accounting, place a copy of your "drive.num" file in this directory. This will allow CCS Accounting to locate and automatically translate and import the older Dos files. Contact CCS for more assistance with data conversion.
Temp: Sets the location that Temporary files are located. This should not be a network drive.
Reports: Sets the location of report templates. CCS Accounting presently uses Crystal Reports to create and print many of the predefined reports. While these templates can be placed on a shared device, however, if local, reports will load considerably faster if a local drive is used.
User: Sets the location that CCS Accounting will locate files that are specific to a particular user or computer . This path should not be a network drive.
ODBC: Used by the CCS Accounting Program, when a new ODBC Datasource is created programmatically. This may or may not be applicable to your ODBC Data Source. Must be a shared device if the Data Source is to be shared.
Help: Sets the directory where CCS will access the HELP files. Can be a shared device.
Backup: Sets the directory where CCS will place backup files. Can be a shared device, Writable CD (If formated for direct writing), ZIP drive, etc.

These Settings may be different on each networked computer, providing the shared resources map to the same shared device.

Note: See Backup for more information on other backup tools.
